THE way President Museveni has demonstrated his fitness during the 30 Pressure ups he worked yesterday, excited his supporters among them, Kampala business mogul Godfrey Kirumira and now wants him to be added more 20 years in power.

This comes after Mr. Museveni on Wednesday banned public or outdoor group exercise, aerobics, etc saying through this, Coronavirus can easily spread.

He advised the public to exercise from their rooms or homes just like he does. 

“I will tomorrow (Thursday) share a video and show you how to do exercise from your room.” Promised the president. He indeed shared it yesterday and it shows Mr. Museveni warming up and working out. His impressive pressureups have made the video go viral on social media. 

Hundreds like Music promoter Balam Barugahara have filmed themselves putting up a challenge.

However, on a certain NRM platform, former youth leader Adam Luzindana Buyinza jokingly posted how Balaam fainted while trying to imitate President Museveni. 

Referring to it as breaking news’, Adam Buyinza yesterday night wrote, “Balaam, a reknown music promoter and money magnet is admitted at Nakasero Hospital. He was immitating president Museveni’s pressureups and fainted.Doctors have confirmed that he is  out of danger and responding well to treatment.” “Balaam just stop at supporting Museveni, you cant match his stamina.The Man has challenged us all.” Said Adam, of Buyinza products.

M7 DESERVES MORE 20 YEARS – KIRUMIRA

The Kwagalana group chairman today evenning posted on The Think Platform that from what the world has seen, Mr. Museveni is fit to be in power for more 20 years.

Chairman Kirumira posted that: “Muzeeyi is still physically fit. He has like 20 years to lead this country OMG!”

Kirumira, one of the powerful businessmen in Kampala believes, the stamina demonsted by the Head of State, must silence those who had a belief that he is tired.

By 2021, President Museveni would have been in power for 35 years and will be 77 years old. 

Now Kwagalana Chairman wants Museveni to be added more 20 years and by the time that period expires, Muzeeyi will have ruled Uganda for 54 years and will be 96 years old.

However, opposition Forum for Democratic Change has refused to agree with tycoon Kirumira’s way of seeing things 

Responding to his post, Mr. Walid Lubega Mulindwa, FDC National Youth Chairman  has said, “Am so much disappointed in you Omukungu Godfrey Kirumira. So according to you, putting up 20-30 pressureups shows ability to lead the country? Don’t lift the man that high”.

President Museveni working out has put up a debate on social media, his supporters are saying their man is still a dangerous striker who can’t be substituted while those in opposition say, working out Pressureups and able leadership totally differ. 

Justine Nameere, who is a daughter to Hon. Minister Vincent Bamulagaki Ssempijja has written, “The ones who call themselves young need, to smoke weed first and I hear,  use waragi and other energy boosting drinks to have this stamina!”

“Yet the one they refer to as old is very fit, functioning on a toxic free body! It’s beyond doubt, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is the only youth in his Seventies. Distance covered is equal to speed times time. Time taken = 2.25min. Estimated Speed = 30km/hr. Which is Also equivalent to 500mtrs per minute. Giving a total distance taken as 500×2.25=1125mtrs . It’s also equivalent to 1.125kilometres. Mzee is indeed gifted.

PRESIDENT Museveni yesterday night saluted His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II for the financial and food contibutions he made towards feeding his hungry subjects during the lockdown and also fighting the spread of Coronavirus.
Mr. Museveni also thanked opposition People Power Movement led by Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi for showing solidarity in the fight against Covid -19 epidemic saying, “Thank you very much for joining your people.”
While addressing the Nation yesterday night, Museveni whose Speech lasted 90 minutes said, “I have appealed for donations, in particular I want us to build the transport fleet of the ministry of Health because as of now, we have a problem of how to transport  the Pregnant women from the villages without using the private vehicles which have their own problems.”
“The best way would be having enough Government vehicles to do the work. And I was estimating, if we have ten vehicles per a district since the districts are no longer too big these days, I think they would be reasonable.”he continued to say, “This means, we need between 1350 to 1400 vehicles Four wheel brand – new model double cabins. So I appeal to you, to contribute.”
Museveni who addressed the Nation from Nakasero State House said,  “And am glad, a number of People have contributed and on my list, are a number of people and companies. Kabaka donated UGX 100M.” 
On Tuesday,  His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda sent his brother Prince David Kintu Wasajja alongside Kingdom top ministers and officials to deliver UGX 100 millions and other necessities which included a truck full of Maize flour branded ‘Ssaabaajja Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II Kabaka of Buganda’

They were handed to Prime minister Rt. Hon. Dr. Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda who hailed Buganda Supreme leader for always standing with his subjects amidst all situations.
On People Power contribution, “Museveni who ordered Hon. Minister Karoro Okrut now in charge of all contributions to compile the  full list and be published in media, was very amused and all smiles as he was announcing Hon. Bobi Wine’s contribution.

M7’S YESTERDAY SPEECH IN SUMMARY

Museveni addressing the Nation
  1. A number of 213 tested NEGATIVE today out of the 214 samples tested for COVID19 (only one tested positive). 
  2. Currently a total of 53 cases have been confirmed positive for COVID19 out a total number of  3,600 tested for COVID19.
    3.  Public/ outdoor group exercise/ aerobics etc  have been PROHIBITED. The public has been advised to exercise from their room/ home. The President has promised to share a video of his personal tips on  how to do exercises from your room. 
    4.  Anyone that violates the health emergency recommendations the shall be charged with attempted murder. E.g secret bars in homes , communal prayers. 
  3. Security agents have been cautioned against beating civilians and have been urged to make arrests and charge offenders furthermore security officers that are not performing their duties will lose their jobs, be arrested and will be charged with murder 
  4. All Bodaboda riders should stop operating by 2PM. No more bodabodas will be allowed on the road after 2PM.
  5. Politicians that are still distributing food during this time  are defying the health emergency rules and are going to be arrested and charged with attempted murder and granted no bail.
  6. Landlords have been PROHIBITED from evicting tenants that are defaulting on their rent payment and the President has asked Police to intervene in these cases. 
  7. Land border points of entry in the beginning may have let persons through without critical screening as compared to the airport. However these are being followed up together with the vigilance of the local community around these land border  points of entry.
  8. “Double-cabin” and “pick-ups” that are not carrying cargo are not allowed on the road. 
  9. Cargo transporters carrying passengers will be arrested and charged with murder. 
  10. Breakdown of the positive cases: 9 (identified at the airport) 31(were among the persons in quarantine) 13 (contacts of infected returnees)
  11. A total number 18,862 people have entered the country since 7th March. Some of these returnees are in the community . Some of these asymptomatic persons maybe shedding the virus. These are being traced and will be tested from their homes. 
  12. A total number of  960 people who were in contact  with the positive “13” are being followed up.
  13. All cargo personnel coming into the country are going to be tested with effect from tommorow. Including persons coming in through the “porous” areas of the borders 
  14. Health Center III personnel don’t take community based samples. The collection “hubs” have personnel and equipment to collect samples from suspected cases. Samples will be collected at the home of the suspected case. The public has been discouraged from going to the collection “hubs”.
  15. Re-opening of Schools are still scheduled for the 27th April, however this is subject to revision based on the trend of current  emergency situation.

Asked to say something during the presidential address, Rt. Hon. Prime minister Rugunda said, “His Excellency has assigned Hon. Mary Karoro Okurut minister in charge of General duties in office of the Prime minister a political responsibility to make sure this fund is build up and administered properly.”
“The President has also assigned Dorothy Kisaka to be the administrator of this fund. He appointed a team of Ugandans with a lot of experience in matters of this nature and the team is likely to be announced tomorrow (today).” Said Rugunda who thanked Mr. Lubega, LC 1 Chairman Kireka village who was able to mobilize 1M.
He promised the Nation that “This fund will be managed well, professionally and transparently, and regular publication of what has been contributed would be issued by the overall cordinator of the fund, Hon. Mary Karoro Okurut.”

‘BUY MY PEOPLE FOOD’, KABAKA MUTEBI TELLS GOV’T AS PRINCE WASAJJA DELIVERS 100M TO COVID 19 TASK FORCE

BUGANDA King Ronald Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II has today Tuesday given Central Government UGX 100M to buy food and other necessities to the starving people who are not earning a living during this Covid-19 lockdown.

His Majesty the Kabaka, has also pledged to continue sending teams to monitor and sentize his subjects about Coronavirus and how it spreads.

The Cheque was delivered by his brother Prince David Kintu Wasajja, accompanied by top Kingdom officials.

It was handed over to Uganda Prime minister Dr. Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda who heads the Covid-19 National Task Force at his office in Kampala. 

Dr. Rugunda has today launched the fundraising drive as we count down to the end of the lockdown instituted by the President.

HIS MAJESTY Ronald Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II, Buganda Supreme leader will today send a team of his top Kingdom officials to deliver food and other basic necessities to Central government in a bid to feed his hungry subjects during this Covid-19 stay home campaign!

The delegation will be led by Buganda 2nd deputy Premier Rotarian Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa who doubles as the Kingdom’s treasurer.

The Head Covid-19 Task Force, Prime minister Ndugu Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda is set to receive Kabaka Mutebi’s team at his office and be handed food and other basic necessities sent by the King.

According to the information from the office of Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, “Kingdom officials will also brief Central government about laid out measurers by Kabaka Mutebi to continue helping his subjects staying at home in the fight against the spreading Coronavirus.” 

HOW KABAKA GIVES BACK TO HIS PEOPLE

A clique of some bad minded people recently openly attacked Mengo, demanding food from them saying, “We stood by you when you were in need of ettoffali, it is time for you to reciprocate when we need food.” According to Premier Charles Peter Mayiga, Mengo always gives back to the people through programs like health, education, agriculture, awareness, jobs, etc.

Katikkiro said, “Every year, Kabaka gives out a school to CBS luganda quiz winner. Every year kabaka treats people through health camps for diseases such as, Fistula, Sickle cells, Hepatitis B among others.” 

Owek. Mayiga stated that, “In 2017, Mengo gave out UGX 1.1B to fight sickle cells and a total of 16,789 People received medical care.”

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga through the Kingdom Agricultural Ministry, gave out three million coffee seedlings worth UGX 1.2B to Farmers in 14 Buganda counties.

This is a better way of fighting poverty by teaching a man to fish for himself, not giving him fish.

Every year, thousands of vulnerable children are educated by Kabaka through the Kabaka Education Fund giving out over 1000 bursaries annually.

Buganda Kingdom calls upon Kabaka’s subjects to remain calm, responsible, respectful, disciplined and focused.

“The fight against Covid -19 should not divide Kabaka’s people, instead it should unite us. Our enemies want us divided, they are the ones making our King unable to fully provide for his people. We have always demanded for Federo so that the Kingdom can be in position to serve well Kabaka’s people.” Noted a top Kingdom official.

LATEST IN KENYA: PARLIAMENT SITTINGS SUSPENDED INDEFINATELY AFTER BAN OF MOVEMENT IN NAIROBI

THE National Assembly and Senate sittings that were scheduled to be held this week have been cancelled following the cessation of movement in and out of the Nairobi Metropolitan area to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

In a joint press statement issued on Monday evening, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and his Senate counterpart Ken Lusaka said parliament sittings will remain suspended until further notice.

“As you are aware, the two Houses of Parliament are both scheduled to hold Sittings in this week. In the circumstances, it has therefore become necessary to inform you that it will not be possible to hold the Sittings of the Houses of Parliament as scheduled, until further notice,” reads the statement.

The Senate was set to hold a Sitting  on Tuesday, April 7, while the National Assembly was to convene on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

The Speakers, however, said that consultations are ongoing on how urgent business before the two Houses of Parliament can be transacted remotely.

“The Leadership of the two Houses is consulting and shall advise on the means by which urgent business that is before the Houses of Parliament shall be transacted remotely and
Members shall shortly be advised on this,” said the Speakers.
The cessation of movement within the Nairobi Metropolitan area shall be for an initial period of 21 days with effect from 7pm on Monday, April 6, 2020.
Movement in and out of Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa shall also remain banned for 21 days beginning 7pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

The Ministry of Health has since declared Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale COVID-19 infected areas.
82% of Kenya’s reported cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Nairobi Metropolitan Area; and 14%  in Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa Counties

Different people on social media were seen asking who are the owners of APONYE (U) Ltd and how come this company is the supplier of maize flour to millions of Ugandans? How did it win this mega deal?

News Editor Media picked interest and here we report: APONYE (U) LTD is owned by a Kabale-Kigezi tycoon Apollo Nyegamahe.

His company name is got from both his names. APollo president Museveni’s blue eyed boy, is also the NRM Chairman for newly created Rukiga district.

Those knowing him say, this super tycoon has lots of multi billion investments ranging from transport business where he owns a fleet of trailers to owning Aponye Motel along William Street in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.

Aponye who has connections to big shots in Government like Rt. Hon. Prime minister Ndugu Dr. Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda, Governor Bank of Uganda Emannuel Mutebire,  business mogul Amos Nzeyi,  State minister for Finance David Bahati among others all from Kigezi owns a number of malls in the heart of Kampala.

One is that which houses Mega Standard Supermarket and many others around Kampala Old taxi park.

He is said to be the best grain miller in Uganda. Him and Chris Kaijuka the chairperson Uganda grains council are buddies. 

Aponye supplies maize flour to United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) and United Nations (UN) based regugee camps.

He owns a Plastic factory and Aponye Construction Company also dealing in building materials. In Kabale, he owns Apo Hotel in Muhanga. 

SOUTH SUDAN BILLIONS’ DEAL

Among a few Ugandan traders who were compensated with billions of Shillings by the government for the losses made during the Seven years civil war, was Apollo Nyegamahe!

He claimed to have lost business in South Sudan. He bagged millions.

MAIZE CASH

The same Aponye was among middlemen given about 100M by the government to buy maize from farmers last year.

Finance minister Matia Kasaija said government injected Shs100 billion to buy off excess maize stock that had resulted into falling corn prices.  Government’s intention was to stabilise market prices.

It is however not known whether such huge sums of tax payers’ money was returned to the government coffers.

With such juicy deals, favours, high profile connections in government and being a top man in NRM, no one should again ask, why it’s Aponye (U) Ltd supplying government with trailers full of Maize flour for the vulnerable poor during this lockdown.

Pr. Muwanguzi is the People Power cordinator in charge of informal sector Eastern region and aspiring MP Bugabula South in Kamuli. He is too close to Hon. Bobi Wine.

News from Busoga region, shows that, Pr. Muwanguzi who is accused of abusing the person of the President, was yesterday Sunday March 05th 2020 given a police bond by Nalufenya police to allow his family rush him to hospital for medication after being badly beaten and tortured on Saturday night for allegedly defending Kyadondo East legislator Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine intention to contest for President.

THE STORY

According to our sources in Jinja, all started when Pr. Muwanguzi floored RDC Sakwa during political talk show on 87.7 Baba FM known as ‘Council yaiffe’ every Saturday from 10am to midday day.

The radio is owned by NRM’s Jinja Municipality West MP Moses Balyeku.

On this radio show which was moderated by Kalyowa were; RDC Sakwa,  Pr. Muwanguzi, Namayingo deputy RDC Majid Dhikusoka and Pr. Tom Ngobi.

For starters, Dhikusoka the Jinja district NRM chairman was appointed Deputy RDC Namayingo District in June 2018.

Pr. Tom Ngobi of World Revival Centre Church is a Movementist 311 who hosted President Museveni in October 2019 during the second anniversary celebrations of the church held at Main street Primary School Jinja.

Museveni donated UGX 100M to Pr. Tom’s church.

So three guests on this radio talkshow were NRM sympathisers against one Andrew Muwanguzi, from opposition.

Eric Sakwa a reknown former UPC gospel preacher started by using abusive language against Bobi Wine allegedly referring to him as ganjaman.

Sakwa is said to have continued insulting Hon. Kyagulanyi as ‘Bobinjaga’, in a deliberate effort to annoy Muwanguzi.

On his turn, Muwanguzi ridiculed Sakwa as a very low class individual who is totally nothing compared to Kyagulanyi a member of parliament and  presidential material. Those close to Muwanguzi say, Sakwa got bitter and threatened to shoot this Pastor only to be cooled down by deputy RDC Dhikusoka.

Although he denies this, insiders put it to RDC Sakwa that after the radio talkshow,  he drove to police to open up a case against Pr. Muwanguzi accusing him of using the talkshow to allege that Covid 19 is not in Uganda which is a misleading message that faults President Museveni’saying measures put in place to fight this pandemic.

“Pr. Muwanguzi was tipped by a friend at police about Sakwa’s plot to see him arrested to which he replied that it is ok, let them find me at my home.” Said a source close to Muwanguzi.

At around 7:00pm on Saturday evening, Muwanguzi received a call summoning him to police ‘over some matters’ but he refused saying it was too late for him to leave home, citing curfew announced by the President.

In a few minutes,  Muwanguzi’s home was raided by security men who pulled him out of his house, forced him into a waiting Supercustom and drove off.

“Inside the car, I was beaten so much,  went through all kinds of torture and when i asked them why they were killing me, none responded until I lost consciousness. I realized a day later that I was dumped in Nalufenya Police cells” Said Pr. Muwanguzi who is now out of coma but still under going medication.

All over his body are bruises and wounds showing how this man of God was beaten.

Opposition leaders in Jinja have condemned Sakwa’s act saying, if he can’t manage a mutual debate on radios, let him turn down the invitation.

“Mr. Sakwa is setting a very bad precedent. We advise him to stop being violent. Let him not lead our people into temptation. They are law abiding citizens, he should stop pressing the nose.” Said DP’s Saulo Nsongambi 

OUT OF ORDER: LC V CHAIRMAN LUZIGE IMPOUNDS MUBENDE HOSPITAL AMBULANCE FULL OF PASSENGERS

MITYANA district LC V Chairman Counsel Joseph Luzige has today morning, with the help of Uganda Police Force (UPF) impounded a Ministry of Health ambulance attached to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital Reg. No. UG 4478M fully loaded with passengers who are not anywhere closer to sickness!

On being arrested, the ambulance driver took off to escape rotting in the cells.

Speaking to The News Editor Online, Chairman Luzige said, the ambulance which is meant to carry sick people in very critical conditions was stopped at a road block in Bujuuko, about 15 Miles on Mityana road.

“On stopping it, it was instead acting as a public mean of transport, carrying passengers. The driver sensed danger, and took off. This ambulance was filled to capacity.” Said ruling NRM’s Joseph Luzige.

He continued to say, “Am warning all ambulance drivers not to load passengers or else, risk being arrested and persecuted. That is highly risky as you may pick covid 19 from such passengers and above all its against the president’s directive.”

“I have instructed the police at Bujuuko and Mityana to check all ambulances going through Mityana District.  So governors warn your drivers especially those passing through Mityana. We must protect citizens from the spreading of Covid 19, it is our mandate.” Said Luzige, who has been on front line in fighting Coronavirus. 

For starters, President Museveni suspended public transport and private vehicles, sending a country to lockdown for 14 days.

According to The Head of State, this was done to tame Coronavirus not to spread especially to up country.

People going to villages have resorted to go by foot, others jump on trucks and this ambulance driver must have been tempted to give them lift which is totally against the Presidential directive.
