RUBAGA South Member of Parliament Hon. Aloysius Mukasa has asked Parliament of Uganda to cause for urgent punishment of all security officers in Miltary and Uganda Police Force (UPF) who on Thursday violently assaulted Chairman Fred Nyanzi and broke his foot while he was on Party assignment in Kyenjojo district! Addressing media at Rubaga Hospital where National Unity Platform (NUP) National Mobilizer Nyanzi was rushed to save his life, area MP Mukasa said, the perpetrators must be taught a lesson for continuing to infringe on the rights of citizens. Security forces brutaly arrested Chairman Nyanzi, reportedly breaking his foot in Kyenjojo when police and military invaded and disrupted a lawful party activity of Kunga Kunga, a Party National Mobilization Campaign.
In his statement on Thursday evening, NUP President Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, brother to Chairman Nyanzi said, “Today, the cowardly regime yet again launched a violent attack on our leaders in Western Uganda! The police and military attacked our leaders as they went to induct and launch our Mobilisation Teams for Tooro Sub-region in Kyenjojo District. Comrade Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu and one of our local coordinators Musinguzi Ibrahim were brutaly assaulted. They were both rushed to Kyenjojo hospital where they are receiving treatment. Our other comrades were violently dispersed. We condemn this criminality in the strongest terms”. Condemning this attack on the top Party leader, MP Mukasa said security officers in Uganda have continued to demonstrate unprofessionalism of the highest order against the citizens calling upon Parliament to act and stop what he called impunity before Ugandans rise up to defend themselves against what he referred to as provocation by the security organs!
The NUP MP revealed to media how he has a heavy heart after visiting his colleague Fred Nyanzi, the 2021 NUP candidate for Kampala Central. “I am speaking to you with a heavy heart after visting my brother Nyanzi who is currently admitted at Rubaga hospital. The security brutality and torture that has been subjecting civilians to inhumane treatment must stop and perpetrators be punished. It is saddening to learn that Chairman Nyanzi was harassed and brutally beaten up by the police and military for exercising his constitutional rights. It is even more distressing to know that he is now admitted with a fractured foot.” Said Rubaga South MP Aloysius Mukasa while addressing media.
He told journalists that he condemns the police and military’s actions in the strongest terms possible. “No Ugandan should be subjected to such harsh treatment for simply exercising his or her rights as a civilian. I therefore call upon Parliament of Uganda to intervene and save our people.” Said MP Mukasa, adding, “So to masters of these heartless security officers, must take urgent action to address this issue and hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions. The police and military forces are meant to protect and serve the citizens of this nation, not inflict harm upon them. We can not keep folding our hands while such atrocities continue to happen.”
Other NUP leaders who were arrested in Kyenjojo, released
Praying for his colleague, Hon. Mukasa said, “The people of Rubaga South stand with Chairman Nyanzi and his family during this difficult time, and we pray for his quick recovery and we embark on spreading the gospel of the mighty NUP Party countrywide.” Insiders say, Chairman Nyanzi and MP Mukasa ara buddies. On another note, Hon. Mukasa has wished the people of Rubaga South a happy Easter and urged them to remain foccussed on the struggle to liberate their country.

THE Court of Appeal in Kampala has dismissed an application by URA opposing the refund of over UGX 25 billion to the Fund following the judgment of the High Court which overturned the decision of the Tax Appeals Tribunal and a tax assessment against the Fund of UGX 45 billion. The tax body had initially issued a tax assessment of UGX 84 billion and the Fund was required to pay 30 percent of the tax assessed before the dispute was heard by the Tax Appeals Tribunal. The High Court overturned the assessment which meant that URA was required to refund the 30 percent with accrued interest. URA has never refunded the money. Hon. Justice Oscar Kihika in his ruling delivered on March 24, 2023 dismissed the application on grounds that URA failed to prove that its substantive appeal against an earlier decision of the High Court has a likelihood of success. “The Applicant (URA) is in the process of obtaining leave to appeal, having filed a Notice of Appeal. However, having failed to establish whether or not the intended appeal has a likelihood of success, this Court is of the view that the balance of convenience does favour the Respondent (NSSF) which has a judgment in its hands.” Reads Justice Kihika’s ruling. It goes on to read, “I find, therefore, that the Applicant has failed to establish that the Appeal will be rendered nugatory if an order for stay of execution is not issued.” He also found that there was no evidence of irreparable damage that URA could suffer in the event that a stay of execution was not granted, in response to the tax body’s submissions. On the contrary, NSSF stood to suffer substantial loss since they have been in court since 2014 and since obtaining judgment in its favour, URA had without sufficient cause, held onto the 30% that was paid in 2014. NSSF Ag. Managing Director Patrick Ayota welcomed the court’s decision saying that the funds will be invested to earn a return for the members. “This ruling gives us more confidence as we pursue the substantive case through the courts that our decision will be vindicated,” he said. In 2013 URA conducted a Tax audit on the Fund and assessed taxes on NSSF interest paid to members. However, this was a departure from URA’s earlier position contained in November 1, 2011, letter, which had advised NSSF that the interest paid to members is allowed as a deductible expense for income tax purposes. The Fund objected and filed a case in the high court against URA. Through an arbitration process, the assessment was reduced from UGX 84 billion to 42 billion but the parties failed to agree on the tax treatment of interest the Fund declares and pays to members annually. The dispute on the tax treatment of Interest case was transferred to the tax appeals tribunal which ruled against the Fund upholding the assessment of 42 Billion in March 2020. Dissatisfied with the decision of the tribunal, the Fund appealed to the commercial division of the High Court, arguing that whereas the Tribunal decided that members’ savings are not a debt obligation as they are excluded from the definition, which is provided in the Income tax act definition, this was erroneous because the income tax act does not state so. The Fund also argued that the tribunal treated interest paid to members as a dividend which is contrary to the definition of dividends in the Income Tax Act and that the financial impact of the tribunal ruling would effectively impair its ability to preserve the value of members’ savings. In November 2020, the High court agreed with the Fund. In his ruling, Justice Boniface Wamala set aside the tax tribunal ruling that interest paid by the Fund is a deductible expense for income tax purposes.

The MK Movement National Vice Chairman Western Uganda, Balaam Barugahara on Saturday presided over the launch of the first ever MK Movement Diaspora Chapter and leadership structure in London, United Kingdom. The event which brought together dozens of hundreds of Gen. Kainerugaba supporters from different parts of the United Kingdom, took place at Royal Regency, London. First son Muhoozi Kainerugaba recently made a shocking declaration how he will contest for President in 2026, come rainfall or sunshine. His supporters in UK vowed to stand, support and bankroll President Museveni’s son for President.
Gen. Muhoozi addressing his supporters
The MK Movement is a group of Ugandans both within and out of the country laying the groundwork for Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to become the next President of Uganda. It supretends several groups which include among others MK Army, Team Chairman, Avengers, Revolutionary Guards and Original Army. Speaking during the commissioning, Mr Balaam Barugahara, who was accompanied by Igara East MP Hon Michael Mawanda, a member of CEC MK Movement, applauded the organizers for positively contributing to building of a better Uganda. “I want to thank the team which has organized this historic event. The start is always hard but you have started in a bigger way. This is firm brick you have put to building our country. Our boss, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the next President of Uganda, greets you and recognizes all these efforts,” Barugahara said on Saturday.
MK for President
“He (Gen Kainerugaba) is ready, determined and prepared to take over from where our grandfather will stop. He is the future of the young generation, understands its needs and is up to task to lead it for the better,” he added. Mr Barugahara further asked the organizers to later organize transparent elections and choose leaders of the Chapter, proposing that at least each county of the UK should be represented on the Committee for easy mobilization. He also called upon them to always observe transparency in their activities so as to move together as a group in pursuit of their objectives. “In politics you must be tolerant and allow criticism. You also need to sit down with others, make budgets in a transparent manner and let everyone know what you are spending on. Let everyone know what you are doing, no one will fight you.” Meanwhile, on Twitter, Gen Kainerugaba expressed pleasure with Mr Barugahara for commissioning the launch. He also said, “We are strong everywhere.” On his part, Hon Mawanda, called for support of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba by every one despite being members of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. “I hear some of you are on the fence wondering whether to support MK Movement or NRM. You don’t have to be on the fence. I am a good example, I am a Member of Parliament representing Igara East on the NRM ticket, I am a strong supporter of NRM and I am a strong support of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba,” Hon Mawanda said. Susan Debbie Nantongo, the Women’s Coordinator of the MK Movement UK Chapter, rallied the young people to embrace Gen Kainerugaba a gift to Uganda and one who wi transform the country and better their lives. “The choice is today and the choice is us. The future is in this man, let us give him a chance. He stands for the good of all of us,” Nantongo said during the launch. Last month, Gen Kainerugaba, now a Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, announced plans to run for the presidency in the 2026 elections, saying it was “time for our generation to shine”. He also said he will retire from the army this year.

● Pastors insist, they didnt vote for Odongo as General Overseer ● Rejects National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches’ elections ● ‘We do not belong to the culture of Sodomy. We do not belong to a political party, we belong to the Kingdom of God’, says Bishop Kyazze while giving acceptance Speech to lead new Fellowship
STORY BY: MOSES MUGALULA NEWS EDITOR MEDIA
IT’S NOW official, over 700 Born-Again Churches from all over Uganda have convened for a meeting and announced walking out of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches (NFBPC). They have cited failure by top leaders to uphold and follow the NFBPC constitution, frequent changes in the constitution without a proper quorum and mandate, especially by the members of the NEC who are the route whenever top leaders want to push some selfish agenda. The breakaway churches say, they are fed up of high-handedness of the current General overseer (G.O) Joshua Lwere who runs the organization like a personal company and all leaders must be subjected to the will of Lwere, who seems to have political agendas to realize using NFBPC. They accuse him of fronting Moses Odongo for General Overseer so that he remains controlling NFBPC being that Odongo dances on Lwere’s tunes. They say, Lwere made sure unpopular Odongo wins an election on all costs although it needed rigging for him. “The failure of NFBPC electoral commission to arrange transport for the delegates to have free and fair elections of the new General Overseer on March 16, 2023 gave the opportunity to wrong groups to unleash corrupt money again control of NFBPC. We can not continue subscribing to such a defunct Fellowship. We have moved out.” Said Pastor Livingstone Wagaba, while reading a statement detaling all the 14 reasons why over 700 churches have parted ways with troubled NFBPC. This was during a meeting of pastors gathered at Omega International Ministries Headquaters at Omega Healing centre on Entebbe road to make a declaration of their present stand with regard to NFBPC and also beg Pastor Michael David Kyazze to lead a newly formed Born-Again Pentecostal Churches’ Fellowship. While convincing Pr. Kyazze to embrace their walk-out, Pr. Wagaba referred to scriptural basis of their resolution. He said, “Psalms 11:3 reads, ‘If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?’, Genesis 13:7-14 says, ‘When Abraham and Lot can no longer peaceafully walk together because their herdsmen had quarrels; Abraham came up with a resolution to have them part ways in order to protect their brotherhood. And Acts 15:39 reads; ‘The apostles of Gentiles Paul and Barnabas agree to part ways and take up new missionary partners.” For starters, about two weeks ago, NFBPC organised an election for the General Overseer which Pastors say was characterised by vote rigging and bribery in favour of Joshua Lwere’s candidate Bishop Moses Odongo. Five candidates contested for this top job. Others were; Michael David Kyazze, Joseph Nsubuga, George Oduch and Fredrick Ssemazzi. Kyazze finished second according to the results declared by EC Chairperson Apostle Rogers Zziwa, which polls are highly contested by Pastors. Pastors say, voters’ register wasnt used during election, who ever had a tag or a small paper allegedly given by Chairman EC, was allowed to vote giving way to non delegates to cast votes! We shall come back to this in our next story!
FULL STATEMENT ABOUT WHY 700 BORN-AGAIN CHURCHES HAVE WALKED OUT OF NFBPC AS READ BY PR. WAGABA Greetings in the name of our lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the Lord forever more. This statement is intended to communicate the direction we have chosen to take following the unfortunate story of the 2023 NFBPC electoral process that culminated on March 16th 2023. After taking some time in prayer and considerable thought, have come to a unified resolution to terminate our membership to the National fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal churches (NFBPC). This unified resolution has been prompted by a careful refection on the present condition of NFBPC. The events that transpired at Lugogo indoor stadium on the 16th of March, 2023 only proved to be the last nail in the coffin. This made us realize that NFBPC suffers a harlem of problems that do not allow us to continue belonging to it. Among these cancers are the following;
The shady way in which NFBPC runs its day -to- day business. There are invisible hands pulling the strings so that members are being traded without their consent.
Lack of clear management and stewardship of funds, most especially the funds that members commit to the organization through annual registration and others. There is no accountability for these whatsoever.
Failure to uphold and follow the NFBPC constitution. Frequent changes in the constitution without a proper quorum and mandate, especially by the members of the NEC, are the route whenever top leaders want to push some selfish agenda.
The high –handedness of the General overseer (G.O). The organization is run like a personal company and all are subjected to the will of the G.O., whoever seems to have political agendas to realize using NFBPC.
The infiltration of politicians and the detrimental political inclinations of the fellowship leaders. The recent elections were run by biases to favor some candidates. The church was turned into a political arena instead of a spiritual one as candidates fronted their political bases.
The infiltration of other interested non-members, such as security organs, into how the fellowship is run. There is no doubt that in the recent election non- members. were decisively involved.
Internal organ strife between the Electoral Commission (EC), the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC). There is always ongoing strife within these internal organs which is still unresolved and continues to bother the members of the fellowship.
The creation of ad-hoc quack committees like the House of Bishops (HOB). All these committees seek to serve the power-craving of one man, the incumbent G.O.
The perpetual state of being a briefcase fellowship. The fellowship has been active for thirty years but it has no office / official address.
No track of recorded inventory of assets in the last 30 years. There is a need for a comprehensive inventory asset report. For the member to know which asset belongs to the fellowship. This will clear all misconceptions and accountability.
No track of the registered benefits of the members. There seems to be no benefits for the individual members, nothing to gain when you join and absolutely nothing to lose when you quit.
The failure of the electoral commission to arrange transport for the delegates to have free and fair elections. This was overwhelmingly witnessed by everyone who was at the election ground on 16th March at lugogo grounds, MTN arena. It gave the opportunity to wrong groups to unleash corrupt money and gain control of NFBPC.
The neglect of our Christian values which we highly esteem. Lack of ethics, transparency, and accountability.
Lack of proper registration process with the government and for members.
KYAZZE BREAKS SILENCE SINCE SHAM GENERAL OVERSEER ELECTIONS In his first ever reaction to the sham and facade General overseer elections, Pastor Kyazze who looked stronger and more determined assured breakaway churches how, “Our dream is a revival, sweeping this land and we being at the helm of this great revival.”
NOT YET UHURU: Pastor Kyazze and wife
Amidst chants and applause from Pastors who went to Bishop Kyazze’s office to request him to lead the new Fellowship, the Omega Healing Ministries senior Pastor without mincing words said, “We do not belong to the culture of Sodomy. We do not belong to a political party, we belong to the Kingdom of God’, says Bishop Kyazze while giving acceptance Speech to lead new faction.”
In part II of this strory, we bring you full acceptance Speech of Dr. Michael David Kyazze to lead the new Born-Again Pentecostal Churches’Fellowship.

OPINION BY MATHIAS LUTWAMA DEPUTY RDC KIBOGA NEWS EDITOR MEDIA
WE shall be dissecting with flavour, the various classes of the powerful Movement system in Uganda;
Revolutionary Vanguards This class is comprised of the NRA founding Fathers, with a rich heritage from Fronasa, having paid a gruesome price, for the stability and solace of Uganda and the great lakes, being enjoyed in our day. President Museveni shines with virtuosity and heroic excellence in this category. May the sweet fragrance of the national fathers, per adventure, exhort the Black nations, to the realm of global greatness.
Monetary Moguls This category, is majory configured with tycoons, Rich Women and men, whose role is to Pump money into NRM activities. You ought to reward them with bonanza contracts, to sustain their donations. This group has a chronic weakness though, and that is Sheer cynicism.if you don’t authentically monitor their navigation, they can sponsor your enemy, to dethrone you from the citadel of power.
Fervent Mobilizers In the dimension of democratic unction, electoral suffrage is a Password to supremacy. Mobilizers are a great asset in canvassing for votes, and popular galvanization of programs like PDM, Emyooga , Women Funds and Youth livelihood. This category has a minor weakness though, that is Viral sensation. they can sometimes do things without logic, portraying too much excitement. You must then use aesthetic execution to strictly monitor them, of course with love. If you don’t , they will cause you retrogression in institutional architecture, which you may live to regret in the course of Nation building.
THE AUTHOR: Deputy RDC Kiboga Mathias Lutwama (in a Yellow tie), when he hosted the CAO Kiboga, Canon Edward Musingye. In a 5 hour discussion they dwelt on issues of service delivery and NRM manifesto
Luminaries By Conception and lineage, these are majory strategic thinkers, in Medicine and Endoscopy, cosmology and Engineering, Economics and Military , Neurology and Psychology etc. Their mandate is knowledge induction, in line with inventions. The weakness of this group is time discretion, by being a head of their times in foresight, they tend to be hated and detested by lovers of mediocrity.
Yellow troopers By genealogy, these are deployed as officers and men in the armoury, air force and infantry. This is strategically done by the Supreme command, on a true justification that the NRA and the Movement are Siamese twins, in advancement of civilisation
Party Confederates These are true caders, majory deployed in intelligence agencies. You will never find them dressed in Yellow, but in actual fact they are so loyal and so competent in matters of state cum party ideals and with feasible results. Many of the women and men in this class are humble, by virtue of their high profile inside duties, you may never know them face to face.
The New Blaizers These are sons and daughters of the NRA/ Movement heroes. They rime well with the first category , in Protracted essence and democratic formation. This category professes the principle of induced negation in hierarchy. All signs show, that in due course and season , they will succeed their fathers , in the arena of the state mantle. May the Spirit of the Sovereign GOD, guide their destinies , as they run with a flaming banner, in glorification and grandeur , for the reign of Nations, in the ages yet to come …

AHMED HUSSEIN Marsha, Communications Director, Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has perfectly placed Moses Muhangi, Boxing Federation President where he deserves to be! In a tweet which is trending, Ahmed Hussein refers to embattled Muhangi as, “a tiny time framed Federation leader who loves to be spotted for ‘achieving alone’.” Ahmed Hussein, who was recently named one of the best Public relations chiefs in Uganda has no kind words for motor-mouthed Moses Muhangi who has waged a useless war against the Football Federation in Uganda and its President Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo. FUFA boss doubles as Budiope East Member of Parliament on ruling NRM ticket. Tweeting in response to Moses Muhangi’s missives, Mr. Ahmed Hussein, without mincing words wrote, “The simplest weapon at my disposal is to tell you (Muhangi) that by investing heavily in attacking FUFA and damaging our Brand, you are just logging a dead horse. You’re a tiny time framed sports federation President who loves to be spotted for ‘achieving alone.’ Why would a federation President publicly attack other sports federations.” For days, Moses Muhangi who is said to be in Sports journalists’ bad books has been attacking FUFA President in what sports analysts suspect as a well calculated black mailing mercinery job to taint Magogo and FUFA’s reputation. Muhangi reached an extent of going overboard by tweeting how, “Its possible for Boxing Federation Uganda to organise a ring contest between Moses Magogo and Ben Misagga only that there would be a mismatch since one of them is a mosquito weight.” In another tweet, Moses Muhangi mentioned how he has been advised to engage his partner in crime Ben Misagga, “As one of my mobilizers in the race for Budiope East parliamentary seat. Once iam elected as Member of Parliament Budiope East 2026, half of my Parliamentary earnings will be passed on to the poor voters and their dependants in the constituency.”
FUFA PRESIDENT; Eng. Moses Magogo
Insiders say, Muhangi and Immanuel Ben Misagga(former SC Villa President) are in bed to blackmail FUFAM hoping to dislodge President Moses Magogo and Misagga takes over, a deal Ahmed Hussein prophesied will never bear fruit. In fact in his tweets Muhangi said, “Misagga You actually look more a football presidential material than the hubris. Am not saying I will change the way things are done in the sports sector , but certainly I will spark the brain that will.” It is believed, Muhangi water beaks certain tv journalists to stage manage questions in order to aide him and his worshippers insult The Federation of Uganda Football Association in Uganda. FUFA communications’ boss Ahmed Hussein said, “You don’t need to stage manage the questions. This weekend alone; FUFA has had five activities (non Governement funded). The government funded activity is in Dar. The 5 activities are; UPL, FBL, FWSL, Regional leagues and District leagues. Uganda Cranes is in Tanzania ready to put up a good show. What’s there for Uganda Boxing Federation you lead, this weekend? Sharing stage managed content?”
Busy bee: FUFA Spokesman Ahmed Hussen Marsha
“The strikes hitting FUFA (and itstill survives), if they ever happen to your one man federation, you will not survive for a week. Nyakana Godfrey coming soon.” Ahmed Hussein warned war-monger Moses Muhangi. A FUFA fan who seemed pissed-off with Moses Muhangi’s tweets against Eng. Magogo commented on one of his tweets thus, “The time this guy (Muhangi) spends tweeting against FUFA President Magogo, I advise he at least spends more of it writing proposals to attract sponsors in the Boxing sport he manages instead of making endless noise.” This is a developing story!

RT. HON. ANITA Annet Among, Speaker Parliament of Uganda has vowed that government will not allow a “small group of people to poison our morals”. Speaking at celebrations to mark 121 years of Namilyango College in Mukono District on Sunday, Speaker Among said the recent spike in activities related to homosexuality present a threat, noting that Uganda is a country that is held together by certain values, which must be maintained no matter the intimidation. “We commit to remain resolute to guard what we believe in. We cannot just look on as a small group of people seek to hijack us into unnatural practices,” she said, urging students and every Ugandan to not only “stay clear but remind those trying to shovel their immorality down our throats that we shall not allow them” to succeed.

Early last week, Rt. Hon. Among revealed that she had been intimidated by groups of people she didn’t name over the passing of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill. The Bill was passed by Parliament last week and is now awaiting the President’s signature before it can become law. The Bill had come at the height of an increase in homosexuality-related activities, with a number of people reporting being abused, while others have received cash handouts to get recruited or promote homosexuality. Ms Among also warned students against bullying, which she said was a dangerous vice that “has already claimed lives”. Therefore, she told students that instead of putting their energy in such dangerous things, they should focus on their books to build a better future. “Most of us were no bodies. We were not from rich families, but because we took intentional steps and made books our business, we are here today. I have a friend who has taught me to believe that education is the best equalizer,” she said. Ms Among also joined others in applauding Namilyango College for being an integral part of Uganda’s history, noting that it “is difficult to have a proper narration of Uganda without mentioning Namilyango College, which has nurtured a number of Ugandans over the years. “We cannot thank God enough for giving us the best hands and the wisdom that has maintained our School at the highest level to make the school the pride of our country,” she said.

INVESTOR: Hamis Kiggundu
Dr. Serwadda who owns Impact Media Consortium (IMC), one of the fastest growing media companies in Uganda said every city in the country has a stadium but in a very sorry state which needs redevelopment and urged those frustrating Hamis Kiggundu to ask Government for clearance to redevelop those stadias. In our interview, Dr. Serwadda talked about a number of issues ranging from how successful 2022 end of year Passover Festival at Kyambogo was, how Sports in the Country can be revived and the fight against same sex marriage!
SAID IT ALL: Dr. Joseph Serwadda
In Part I of our Interview with the Presiding Apostle, we shall dwell so much on the issue of reviving Sports in the country and his take on the redevelopment of Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium by investor Hamis Kiggundu, CEO Ham Group of Companies. Read on;
News Editor: A few days to Qatar 2022 World Cup Finals, you were heard during one of your Sunday morning Dream tv/impact radio popular show ‘Ebizimba Omwoyo’ praising Qatar on how it had prepared well for the world top event in football. Dr. Serwadda: Oh yes!
News Editor: You took your viewers and listerners through all the eight designated venues for FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar plus other state-of-the-art accomodation places for vistors. You talked about Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail, Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium and Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan and Stadium 974 and Al Thumama Stadium in Doha. Dr. Serwadda: Yes. Qatar had wonderful preparations.
News Editor: Do you see Uganda on the same page with Qatar as we target AFCON 2027 now that Nambole Stadium is under renovation by UPDF Engineering crew, tycoon Kiggundu is redeveloping Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium and money to construct more two Stadiums will be passed by Parliament in 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 National budgets respectively! Is it the right time, as a country to appreciate investor Hamis Kiggundu and look towards constructing more stadiums? Dr. Serwadda: Definately Hamis Kiggundu is our hero and has set a precedent which other people need to follow but not enviying him. As a business mogul, Hamis Kiggundu wisely ventured into sports and has constructed a multi-billion stadium in heart of Kampala. Such a rare investor must instead be protected, celebrated, supported and prayed for, but not sabotaged, frustrated or fought by a section of leaders and their cohorts. Kiggundu has given our capital city facelift, he is a real nationalist. What a legacy this investor has put up? He has done a wonderful job for the country, let other investors emulate him instead of feeling jealous.
MAGNIFICENT: Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium
News editor: Do other investors have the same favours like that of Hamis Kiggundu to be given land to construct stadiums?
Dr. Serwadda: Do you know any one with such an idea but denied an opportunity?
News editor: Is government willing to enter into a Public Private Partnership with such investors to redevelop our other stadiums? Dr. Serwadda: I think, government should just open up and say, if you want to be an investor, and you give a certain percentage of intetest, we give you land or financial support. We have many stadiums all over the country which needs to be redeveloped. For example, Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara, Masaka Recreation Ground, Kakindu in Jinja, one in Hoima, Pece in Gulu and many more others in big cities are a shame! Personally I have been there, i have preached there. These places can now be availed for public use. Wiling investors show up and are given an opportunity to redevelop them into big stadiums. Each of the new cities, and other cities should have a standard stadium. Let there be businessmen who are willing to invest in that business. Let them do something good, put up facilities, matching with our security, then we will be top on the scope. Have good roads say from Namboole not such a small corridor of Bweyrogerere, Kireka, Banda. Which corridor becomes like a cattle track when we have a match there.
News editor: Parliament is also looking at passing a budget to construct two bigger stadiums matching Namboole. Dr. Serwadda: Parliament has interest in other things, i dont think they have that zeal. Let government open up and we have more stadiums. I need to have a reason to walk out of home to go to the stadiums on weekend. We all want AFCON but it looks like we are not ready. After we have constructed six or more stadiums, then we can venture into all those places and ask for big tournarments. There needs to be an effort where government lets go of sports to people with interest.
News editor: Dont you think this is a wake up call for the Ministry of Education and Sports? Dr. Serwadda: But the ministry of sports itself, should be a substantive independent ministry not attached to Education. That thinking that footballers and other sports come from schools, is wrong. It isnt necessaliry that Children with sports talent are in schools only. We need an independent ministry to start identifying children with sports talent, either from schools or not. If he or she is in school, let that child be helped from school, if he or she didnt go to school, lets develop his or her natural talent. This ministry must be identifying talents from different regions.
News editor: You are looking speifically at the football sport? Dr. Serwadda: Ofcourse no! Sports is wide, it isnt necessaliry football. Ugandans have demonstrated other talents like in Netball, Atheletics. Uganda Atheleties are on world scale, winning world medals. Why do we lose that and instead put emphasis on football where our footballers cant win us bronze medals? Yet we have boxers and other sports. We have beaches on all our lakes, no body is even thinking beach soccer or beach volley ball. We are not versatile in our thinking concerning the sports industry. We are not using experts. Look at Uganda Cranes coach. He has been here before, how did he perform that guaranteed his return? Is it because he is the only competent coach? Really? Sports Minister Peter Ogwang is ok for a ministry, but let him be a full cabinet minister, we give him new ideas. Sports ministry needs fresh blood, a sports lover, a sports enthusiast, when he has the enthusiasm some thing close to what Bakkabulindi had. Like you all saw minister Bakkabulindi. He used to go to the stadium not because he was a minister but because he liked football. Look at myself, i watch every game Uganda Cranes plays just to support them and i love our boys. Its my team. And i was a sportsman. I loved so much football and i was a footballer.
News editor: Is it true you were a boxer? Dr. Serwadda: Yes I tried boxing and when i was beaten, i ran out of this sport.

The conference also trained youths in combating poverty using the Parish Development Model and Emyooga as emphasized by the President during a presidential address to Parliament on Thursday last wee. The other most crucial objective of the conference was on how to devise ways the team can reach various religious and opinion leaders talk to President Yoweri Museveni on considering to stand again for President in 2026 in order to galvanize the country’s achievements as they prepare for transition.
