MAKINDYE West Legislator Hon. Allan Ssewanyana commonly known as ‘Musajja wa bwino’ yesterday took on the floor of Parliament, through the Rt. Hon. Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and adked to know when will President Museveni fulfil his pledge of USD 1M tocken of appreciation to Uganda Cranes for the good participation in the Afcon 2019.
Hon. Ssewanyana said, “Madam Speaker, am rising on a matter of National importance. On the 12th of August 2019 while hosting the Uganda Cranes at State House, the president pledged to give the National football team Us$1m as a token of appreciation for good participation in the Afcon 2019.”
“Madam Speaker as we speak now, no player has ever got any coin of the said pledge and yet we are heading for another round of Afcon qualifiers, World cup qualifiers and CHAN. The players are still in poor mood over unfulfilled promise to them and are threatening not to represent us again until when the money is got.” Said Hon. Ssewanyana, asking, “Madam Speaker, may i know from the minister incharge of presidency when this money can be got?”
