FORMER Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Spokesman Haji Nsereko Mutumba has revealed the source of Late Haji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK)’s riches and why he has died a billionaire! Tycoon BMK passed on today morning in Nairobi, Kenya. He had mega investments in Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Canada among other countries.
In his tribute to the Late Dr. BMK, Haji Nsereko Mutumba has said, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Haji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK). I met him in the 1970s when he was working for my father Haji Ramadhan Ssebuliba who was a cattle trader.”
Nsereko Mutumba says, during his youthful years, Haji BMK was a very humble, focused and hard working young man who was destined for greatness.
“He is one of the few prosperous Ugandans who have accumulated wealth through the work of his own hands, and despite his prosperity, he never lost touch with his old friends like myself,” Reveals Haji Nsereko Mutumba adding that, Haji BMK remained a down to earth person who rejected a lavish life and instead invested a lot of his time and resources in charity work. Through the Sickle Cells Foundation, he inspired and saved many lives.
His contribution to the national economy, to Buganda Kingdom and to his religion, Nsereko Mutumba says, can not be underestimated.
Haji Mutumba noted that, “As an investor, Haji BMK employed many and contributed a lot to the country’s tax base/revenue. As a Muslim, I will forever be grateful to this great man for building Mosques, buying the now Muslim Cemetery at Nkowe and supporting the education of many Muslim students among others. I extend my heartfelt condolences to members of his family.”
