THE Archbishop Church of Uganda His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Stanely Ntagali has cautioned leaders who don’t want to leave power saying, they should copy from the Church of Uganda Constitution where leaders come, serve for a specific time and give way for others to serve, shouldnt wait to be forced out of offices.
Addressing a press conference yesterday shortly after receiving Archbishop-elect Dr. Steven Samuel Kazimba Mugalu and handing over to him the Chuch of Uganda Provincial office at Namirembe in Kampala, Dr. Ntagali said, “Everyone who holds any responsibility should be ready at any time to give out the office peacefully without any force but through good terms.”
On Sunday March 01st 2020, His Grace Stanley Ntagali will be celebrating his 65th Birth day and according to Church of Uganda constitution, all in service leaders are mandated strictly to retire from service when they make 65 years of age.
In his address, Archbishop – elect Dr. Kazimba told media, “I also want to thank Archbishop Ntagali for handing over office peacefully without shaking and already handed over the official car to me without first pulling the ropes.”
“It’s very important therefore to note that, serving people has time limits, treat people well so that when your time to leave office comes, you will also be treated well. We shouldn’t fight each other because, these offices come and go. We will remain praying for each other and all of you pray for us.” Said Kazimba.
He received the Provincial office and the Archbishop palace yesterday.
Today on Thursday, Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, the Government chiefwhip who heads the Farewell and Enthronement organizing committee will address a press conference about the preparations and tomorrow on Friday, Security will give a statement about the Sunday event.
