DAYS after President Yoweri Museveni confirmed his presence to commission the newly constructed Nakivubo Stadium, radical radio talkshow callers renown for attacking investor Hamis Kiggundu and call him all sorts of names in a bid to sabotage the construction of this stadium, have finally eaten their words!
Yesterday night, led by a one Kironde from Makindye and Kaliisa of Ndeeba called in a Uganda Muslim Supreme Council owned radio Bilal talkshow called ‘Amagezi Muliro’ and praised Hamis Kiggundu for such a big investment in the heart of Kampala, calling upon other investors to emulate Ham.
In a show moderated by senior journalist Ismail Kalumba Butannaziba, Kironde whose calls were once discontinued for blackmailing Hamis Kiggundu called in yesterday night, this time a reformed man.
A soft speaking Kironde said, “We were misled to attack Hamis Kiggundu and frustrate him from constructing Nakivubo Stadium. We can now see a magnificent stadium he has constructed in the heart of Kampala and we are very proud of him. Thank you Ham for the work well done.”
Kaliisa mu Ndeeba another regular radio talkshow caller joined Kironde to hail city businessman Hamis Kiggundu laighing at his colleagues who thought Ham will never complete the Stadium.
Kaliisa who is a staunch supporter of Lordmayor Erias Likwago said, “We have now run-out of words. The Stadium is completed and it is going to be launched. What else can we tell the public? All Ugandans, lets stand up for Hamis Kiggundu’s applause, he has done it. Thank you Ham.”
Lukwago is on record for frustrating Nakivubo Stadium and he leads on the list of those who falsely prophesized that Hamis will never put up such a standard stadium.
Radical Kironde, Kaliisa and many others were taken by surprise this week, when latest photos and footage of Nakivubo stadium showed a completed multi billion Stadium in Kampala.
They have now given up on their fight against development and chose to rally behind Kampala businessman Hamis Kiggundu.
It all started when senior investigative journalist Moses Mugalula who was a panelist on the show yesterday night congratulated Haji Kiggundu on completion of the stadium and saluted the Head of State for the political support he is giving to investor Ham.
Mugalula reminded listeners that due to his President Museveni’s influence, PAMOJA bid was a success and Uganda will cohost AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania.
Nakivubo Stadium was identified to host AFCON matches.
