TODAY Saturday September 11th 2021, John Sanyu Katuramu, Toro Kingdom former Prime minister has been released out of Luzira Government Maximu prison where he was jailed 20 years ago.
News of his release comes just a day to the 26th coronation fete of the Omukama of Toro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
Katuramu was sentenced to death in 2001 for the killing of Prince Happy Kijjanangoma.
The sentence was later converted to life imprisonment which translated into 20 years in jail according to the current Ugandan laws.
At Luzira Maximum Prison, Katuramu was received by his son Job Katuramu, Joram Apuuli Ogwekyoma accompanied by senior journalist Andrew Irumba.
From Luzira, Job Katuramu drove his dad to their home in Mbuya where by press time, they were still holding a meeting with othee close family members.
