IN their ongoing mobilization drive to increase the number of girls in school more so at ‘A’ level in Namayingo District,Rt.Hon.Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga,Managing Director Ekigangu kya Busoga also Speaker of Parliament has supported ‘A’ level girls in the area.
Delivering the materialistic support to the beneficiaries in their respective schools who incldued Judith Ajambo (St.Philips SS),Collins Ajambo and Rachael Tewali both of Banda SS on Thursday, Owek.Dr.Joyce Abaliwano Mulebeke notified the recipients that both the Speaker of Parliament and the Kyabazinga are determined to do whatever it takes to have all girls in school.
“Upon our recent visit to Banda SS and St. Philips SS Lwangosia,we notified the Kyabazinga and Speaker of the need to boost the girls’ stay in school and they have since resolved to support them by providing all the basic necessities required for them to continue”, she said before tasking the recipients to be up to the challenge.
“Coming to support you stay in school is one thing that we cherish as Ekigangu. Please stay focused,don’t backtrack and above all,be exemplary to the rest of the learners”.
Flanked by Namayingo DEO,Naay Kawo Kawere,Dr.Abaliwano hinted on their prospective plan to ensure that many vulnerable but bright children are supported.
Under Ekigangu theme of using culture to end early marriage and keep girls in school, the operations team is in the field engaging all the different stakeholders to increase the number of girls in school in Namayingo District. The team has since been to Banda SS,St.Philips Lwangosia SS and Kifuyo SS.The response so far is overwhelming
