GOVERNMENT TO WORK WITH LIONS CLUB AND CHANGE MORE LIVES

THE government of Uganda has committed itself to support Lions club in the provision of services to the communities.

Speaking to members of Lions club of Makerere University at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who was the chief guest applauded the club for the selfless services to communities in Uganda through supporting activities of government departments in health, education, road safety among others.

“As government, we are very grateful for the services you give to our communities and we will work closely with you.” Said VP Ssekandi.

Members of Lions Club Makerere University were celebrating their first anniversary since the club was introduced to Makerere.

Dr. Elizabeth Nansubuga of Makerere University, the incoming President Lions club promised to engage more women to join the club and mobilize more funding for the projects and greater links to lions international. She thanked the Vice President for gracing the celebrations and for the contribution towards the causes of the club.
